Mike Hawkins
Head of Training
Mike has been the BGS Training Manager since 2003. His qualifications include BSc Geology (Imperial College) and MScs in Mineral Exploration (Leicester) and Hydrogeology (Birmingham). He joined BGS in 1978 working largely on mineral exploration and regional mapping projects in Bolivia, Peru, Solomon Islands, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania and Madagascar but also as a hydrogeologist on water supply and environmental issues.
BGS has a wide-ranging programme of training in support of the continuing professional development of its staff. Places on the following courses may also be available to geoscientists outside BGS.
