Bill McCourt joined BGS in 1976 from Liverpool University. He has over 20 years' experience of working in and leading international projects in developing countries, including residential assignments, in Colombia, Ecuador, Indonesia, Jordan and Peru, with international managerial experience of projects in Ecuador, Montserrat, Mozambique, Papua New Guinea and Tanzania. He specializes in minerals-related multi-disciplinary regional thematic mapping projects and has published widely on the geology and geotectonic evolution of the Northern Andes. He is fluent in Spanish.
