Changing Water Cycle is a NERC funded research programme which will develop an integrated, quantitative understanding of the changes taking place in the global water cycle. The programme has five interconnected projects.
Present and future climate and land use changes will affect the global hydrological cycle; this in turn will generate a range of environmental impacts. We need to reduce the uncertainty in our predictions of water-related variables such as regional precipitation, evapotranspiration, soil moisture, hydrological storage and fluxes.
The Changing Water Cycle programme will deliver part of NERC's contribution to the Living With Environmental Change (LWEC) partnership.
