Edmund Teale
Edmund Oswald Teale 1874-1971
Born in Melbourne, Australia.
Created a knight in 1936 during Colonial service in Tanganyika, Teale's surname was "Thiele" until 1917 when he anglicised it to Teale. He was a field geologist with Geological Survey of Victoria, and after working in Australia and New Zealand he then worked in Africa. He was a Fellow of the Geological Society for 61 years.
