Technical and environmental

There are a number of key matters that control the feasibility and the cost of development in quarries and especially those that incorporate built development after uses. These can be considered under three headings, hazards, development issues and benefits.

When considering a proposed after use the technical and environmental issues of the surrounding area are also considered alongside that of the quarry site. For example if a housing development was the preferred after use the location of a motorway nearby would have to be considered due to the noise pollution and other issues that would arise from the close proximity of the motorway.
