G-BASE project staff are also involved in collaborative geochemical projects with other European and International Geological Surveys.

• GEMAS – EuroGeoSurveys Geochemical mapping of agricultural and grazing land soil of Europe
• EuroGeoSurveys – Geochemistry Expert Group
• FOREGS – Geochemical Baseline Mapping Programme
• IUGS/IAGC – Task group on Global Geochemical Baselines

The G-BASE team has also worked in many international development geochemical mapping projects, most recently mapping in Madagascar and Nigeria.

International work is generally directed towards development issues.

These include: the sustainable benefits from natural resources; protection of people and of the natural environment; improving quality of life, and poverty alleviation.
