| Established in 1919 this body reported to the Lord President of the Council and it operated alongside the Minerals Section of the Imperial Institute. The primary function of the IMRB was to 'collect, coordinate and disseminate information as to the resources, production, treatment, consumption and requirements of every mineral and metal'. There was a good deal of duplication of work between the two organisations and in 1925 they merged under the Dept of Overseas Trade and continued in this way until 1949. | ||
